18 Pakistani soldiers killed in ambush in South Waziristan: TTP

Peshawar: In a major attack, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today killed 18 personnel of Pakistan Army as it ambushed a military convoy in South Waziristan, the outfit said.

The ambush was carried out at around 9.30 A.M. (Pakistan time), TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said in a statement to NVI.

He said the Mujahideen of TTP “successfully ambushed two army vehicles near Spin Mosque in Shulam Khesoor area of ​​Tiaraza district of South Waziristan Province in which 18 army personnel were killed.”

Four soldiers managed to escape, he said.

“All our colleagues were safe in this operation,” the TTP spokesman said.

“In order to pick up the dead bodies of its soldiers, the army has started shelling the people in the area through helicopters,” he said.
