These acts of desecration prompted India to lodge a protest with Pakistan.

“It is part of systemic persecution of minorities in Pakistan. We have conveyed our protest to the Government of Pakistan, and urged it to ensure the safety, security and well being of minorities,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told reporters here on Thursday.
