New Delhi: Temples continue to be targets of Islamic fanatics in Pakistan, with 2 such religious places being vandalized in the last 3 days in Sindh province.
On Wednesday night, a Hanuman temple was vandalised in Korangi area of Sindh, according to media reports.
Those who indulged in desecration of the temple broke idols and other items there, visuals showed.
Earlier on Sunday, a temple — Baba Mohandas Temple — in Larkana in Sindh was attacked by Islamic fanatics in the similar way.
The entire temple was vandalized and the valuables looted by the attackers.
These acts of desecration prompted India to lodge a protest with Pakistan.
“It is part of systemic persecution of minorities in Pakistan. We have conveyed our protest to the Government of Pakistan, and urged it to ensure the safety, security and well being of minorities,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told reporters here on Thursday.
