Jammu: The Indian Army has killed 2 terrorists at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu region and suggested that they could be the ones involved in the recent civilian killings in the adjoining Rajouri district.
The terrorists have been killed in Balakot sector of Poonch district, the Army said.
According to officials, alert troops last evening noticed a suspicious movement along the LoC in Balakote sector and fired some speculative fire shots.
Subsequently, a search operation was undertaken in the area.
During the search operation, a brief exchange of fire took place in which 2 unidentified terrorists were killed, the officials said.

“Operations to nab terrorists involved in the #Dhangri attack continue. Alert troops deployed on border fence in #Balakot detected and neutralised two terrorist so far. Area has been cordoned off and operations are in progress.” Nagrota-based Army Corps tweeted.
On January 1, terrorists struck at far-off Dhangri village in Rajouri, killing 3 Hindus in firing and 2 children in explosion of an IED.

At least 10 people were left wounded in that twin attack.
