3 terrorists held in J&K’s Rajouri; arms, ammo recovered

Srinagar (NVI): Security forces arrested three persons believed to be terrorists along with arms and ammunition from Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, officials said today.

Official sources said that an operation was launched in an area near Rajouri town in the intervening night of September 18 and 19 after which forces successfully nabbed three suspects who all are from Kashmir.

They further said that huge quantity of arms and ammunition including assault rifles, pistols and other incriminating material have been recovered so far in the operation.

“The weapons recovered include two Ak-56 riffles, six AK magazines, 180 rounds, two Chinese pistols, three pistol magazines, and 30 rounds, four grenades, two pouches and Rs one lakh cash,” the officials said.

The three terrorists arrested have been identified as Rahil Bashir, Amir Jan and Hafiz Yunis Wani, all residents of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. “A case has been registered in police station Rajouri under FIR number 492/20 Under Section 307/120 B/121/122 IPC 7/27/IAA and 13 ULAP, ” the officials added.
