3 terrorists, including one Pakistani, killed in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar: Security forces today achieved a major success in Kashmir as they eliminated three terrorists, including a Pakistani terrorist and another top Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist who was involved in the recent killing of 3 policemen, 2 Municipal Councillors and 2 civilians, according to the police.

The terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter in Gund Brath area of Sopore, the police said.

Among the killed terrorists was Mudasir Pandith, a top LeT cadre who was “involved in the killing of 3 policemen, 2 Councillors and 2 civilians recently and several other terror crimes,” said Inspector General of Police (Kashmir) Vijay Kumar.

He said the killing of Mudasir is a big relief for local population.

A foreign terrorist identified as Asrar alias Abdullah, a resident of Pakistan, was also killed in the encounter, the IGP said, adding he was active in North Kashmir since 2018.
