Jammu, Jan 2 (NVI): Three young men were found dead inside a hotel room in Bhaderwah area of Doda district of Jammu today with preliminary investigations pointing to asphyxiation due to a charcoal heater, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, stated that police were alerted after the brother of one of the deceased reported no response to repeated phone calls.
The location of the phone was traced, and police teams tracked down the vehicle the deceased had traveled in. Investigations revealed that the three had booked a room at the Royal Inn Guest House.
With no response to repeated knocks on the door, police broke in to find two of the men unconscious on the bed and the third in the washroom. Doctors and forensic teams were called in, but all three were declared dead at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Singh of Domana, Jammu; Ashutosh Singh Rana of Bhela, Doda; and Sunny Choudhary of Purkhoo, Jammu.
The SSP noted that a charcoal heater found in the room likely caused the asphyxiation. A forensic report is awaited, and further investigations are underway (News Vibes of India)
