Srinagar, Jan 5 (NVI): In a tragic road accident, at least four people lost their lives after the vehicle they were traveling in fell into a deep gorge in the remote Massu Padder area of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a senior police official, the incident occurred when a Bolero camper, reportedly enroute to Gwar Massu, veered off the road and plunged into a steep gorge. The cause of the accident is yet to be ascertained, but initial reports suggest that the treacherous terrain and narrow roads in the region might have contributed to the mishap.
The police official confirmed that four people were killed on the spot, and a rescue operation was immediately launched to recover the bodies and search for potential survivors. Local authorities, along with the police and rescue teams, are working in challenging conditions to navigate the difficult terrain and ensure a thorough operation.
Reports of two other people being potentially missing have also surfaced, and officials stated that efforts are underway to verify these claims and locate any additional passengers who might have been in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
