Srinagar, Aug 05 (NVI):- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked the  anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A with celebrations across the region.

This day marks the fifth anniversary of the Indian government’s decision to revoke the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, a move that has been described by the BJP as a “historic” step towards integration.

The BJP organized various events in Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir Valley. Party workers and leaders participated in rallies and gatherings, displaying flags and distributing sweets to commemorate the occasion.

The BJP leaders reiterated the party’s stance that the abrogation has paved the way for peace, development, and prosperity in the region.

Senior BJP leader and the party’s Jammu and Kashmir spokesperson, Altaf Thakur, stated that the abrogation has led to significant progress in the region.

He highlighted various developmental projects and improvements in infrastructure, education, and healthcare, attributing these advancements to the removal of the special status.

Thakur emphasized that the decision has also strengthened national integration.

Leaders said that the shops of separatists along with hartal, stone pelting and calendars and killings have got closed once for all.

Since the abrogation, the central government has implemented various measures to promote development and investment in Jammu and Kashmir.

The move has been met with mixed reactions, with some political leaders and residents expressing support for the changes, while others have raised concerns about the impact on local identity and autonomy.

Opposition parties in Jammu and Kashmir have criticized the celebrations, arguing that the decision has led to political and economic challenges in the region.
They have called for the restoration of statehood and democratic processes, urging the central government to address the concerns of the people.(News Vibes of India)
