New Delhi (NVI): The total confirmed coronavirus cases in the US passed one million mark today, accounting for a third of cases worldwide, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. The US death toll is now over 57,000 people.
Meanwhile, the total number of people confirmed to have coronavirus has gone up to 3.1 million and at least 2,15,000 people have died so far around the globe.
However, more than 9,20,000 people have recovered from the deadly virus worldwide.
In addition to this, the French PM Edouard Philippe presented plans to unwind a nationwide lockdown from May 11 conditional on the number of new cases dropping below 3,000 per day, accoding to media reports.
China’s National Health Commission said that 22 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours, all but one of them in people who had returned from overseas.
