Coronavirus cases in Bangladesh top 7,000; 163 dead so far

New Delhi (NVI): The total number of deaths from coronavirus continues to rise in Bangladesh as 8 more people have died in the last 24 hours, taking the total casualties in the country to 163, according to United News of Bangladesh.

Besides, a whopping 641 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported during this period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 7,103.

In additon to this, Bangladesh government has arranged another special flight on Delhi-Dhaka route on May 5 to bring back Bangladesh nationals who got stuck in India amid countrywide lockdown there due to coronavirus.

The government had earlier arranged three more special flights to bring back Bangladeshi nationals, who got stuck in Kolkata, New Delhi and Mumbai in three batches from May 1-3.

A total of 996 stranded Bangladeshis have returned from Delhi and Chennai by 6 special flights so far, Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi said.

Meanwhile, only 113 people have recovered from the virus till date, making the recovery rate of Bangladesh lowest in the world.
