COVID recovery rate in India increases to 54.13 per cent: Health Ministry

New Delhi (NVI): Union Health Ministry today said that the recovery rate in the country is progressively increasing and has reached 54.13 per cent amongst COVID-19 patients.

In an official statement the ministry informed that around 9,120 coronavirus patients have been cured in India in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally of cured patients to 2,13,830.

At present, there are 1,68,269 active cases and all are under active medical supervision.

In the last 24 hours, 1,89,869 samples were tested. The total number of samples tested so far in the country stands at 66,16,496, the ministry statement said.

The ministry also informed that, the number of laboratories has increased in the country through 715 government and 259 private labs (total 974 laboratories).

Out of these labs, 350 government labs and 193 private labs can conduct Real-Time RT PCR based testing.

Similarly, TrueNat based testing can be done by 338 government and 18 private labs and CBNAAT based testing can be conducted in 27 government and 48 private labs, ministry added.
