Coronavirus cases surpass 10.8 million worldwide

New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases has surpassed 10.8 million around the globe, while over 5.6 million people have recovered and more than 5,21,000 people have died, according to Johns Hopkins University tally.

In the US, the total number of cases have surpassed 2.7 million while more than 1,28,000 people have lost their lives due to the deadly contagion.

Brazil surpassed 61,000 deaths from coronavirus after recording more than 1,000 fatalities over the last 24 hours. the total number of infected cases in the country are also nearing 1.5 million after 48,105 new cases were reported, bringing the country’s total to at least 1,496,858.

Peru’s health ministry reported 185 new Covid-19 deaths on Thursday, bringing the country’s total to at least 10,045. 3,527 new cases were also reported, bringing the nationwide total to at least 292,004.

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Germany increased by 446 to 1,95,674, meanwhile the death toll rose by 9 to 9,003 in the country.

The United Kingdom’s death toll from the novel coronavirus rose by 89 to 43,995 while the total number of cases crossed 2,85,000.
