In the US, tally of infected cases is nearing 3 million while the total number of fatalities have surpassed 1,31,000 in the country.

In addition to this, The United States has officially notified the UN secretary-general of the country’s withdrawal from the World Health Organization.

Meanwhile, Israel’s public health director has quit amid a spike in new coronavirus cases, saying the country had been too hasty to reopen its economy and had lost its way in dealing with the pandemic.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has acknowledged “evidence emerging” of the airborne spread of the coronavirus, after a group of scientists urged the global body to update its guidance on how the respiratory disease passes between people.
