New Delhi (NVI): India registered the highest single-day spike of 28,701 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, taking the total number of cases to 8,78,254, according to Union Health Ministry data.
The death toll has climbed to 23,174 with 500 new fatalities being recorded since yesterday.
With 2,54,427 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far, Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state in the country, followed by Tamil Nadu with 1,38,470 cases and Delhi with 1,12,494 cases.
