J&K: 47 prisoners, 46 travelers among 346 fresh cases, tally at 11,173

Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 346 fresh Covid-19 cases that include 47 prisoners, 46 travelers and six Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel, taking the total number of confirmed positive cases in the UT to 11,173.

Officials said that among new cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir today, 117 were tested positive at SKIMS, 48 at JVC Bemina and rest at other hospitals. “The new cases include 47 prisoners who tested positive at Central Jail Anantnag district, 46 travelers and six SSB personnel. The total number of positive cases has reached to 11,173,” they said.

Among 348 new cases, 290 belong to Kashmir division while 56 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 8785 including 4669 recoveries and 177 deaths while the total number of positive cases in Jammu has reached 2388 including 1554 recoveries and 18 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in the UT is 4755 including 3939 from Kashmir and 816 from Jammu

With 128 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached 6223 which is 55.59 percent of the total cases which was over 63 percent a few days before.

Cases that tested positive in J&K today include 127 from Srinagar, 07 from Kulgam, 11 from Baramulla, 11 from Shopian, 58 from Anantnag, 03 from Kupwara, 39 from Pulwama, 14 from Budgam, 16 from Bandipora and 04 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 56 from Jammu division include 11 from Jammu, 10 from Kathua, 01 from Ramban, 10 from Rajouri, 01 from Samba, 01 from Poonch, 14 from Doda, 03 from Reasi and 05 from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 3,17,904 persons in J&K are under observation while 38,211 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides that, 4755 persons are in hospital isolation while 24 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 2,29,182 persons have completed the surveillance period and 45,537 persons are under home surveillance.

So far, results of 4,66,333 samples are available out of which 4,55,160 stand negative while 11,173 have been tested positive. Among positive cases, 4755 are active and 6223 persons have recovered while 195 have died.
