Srinagar (NVI): An Indian army soldier was killed in action along the Line of Control (LoC) after Pakistan resorted to another violation of ceasefire in Rajouri district, the officials said.
Officials said that in the intervening night of July 31 and August 1, Pakistan army violated ceasefire on Line of Control in Tarkundi, and Balakote areas of Rajouri district.
“Amid Pakistan’s fire, an army jawan posted on Line of Control received multiple splinter injuries and was evacuated to nearby army medical center where he succumbed,” officials said.
They added that slain solider is a resident of Punjab. The troops of Indian army retaliated effectively to unprovoked fire from Pakistan. More details awaited.
