J&K: 470 fresh Covid cases take overall tally to 25,000

Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 470 fresh coronavirus cases including 107 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to over 25,000.

Officials said that the exact number of positive cases in the UT has reached 25,367 that includes 19,654 from Kashmir and 5,713 from Jammu division.

The officials said that among 470 new cases, 368 belong to Kashmir division while 102 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 19,654 including 13,519 recoveries while the total number of positive cases in Jammu has reached 5,713 including 3,856 recoveries and 35 deaths.

They said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 7,514 including 5,692 from Kashmir division and 1,822 from Jammu division.

With 372 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in the UT has reached 17,375 which is 68.48 percent of the total cases.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,263 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 5,713.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 115 from Srinagar, 41 from Baramulla, 30 from Pulwama, 10 from Kulgam, 14 from Shopian, 16 from Anantnag, 31 from Budgam, 17 from Kupwara, 79 from Bandipora and 15 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 102 from Jammu division include 58 from Jammu, 08 from Kathua, 05 from Rajouri, 16 from Ramban, 02 from Udhampur, 05 from Samba, 04 from Doda, 02 from Kishtwar and 02 from Reasi,” officials said.

As per the daily information bulletin, 3,95,216 persons in J&K are under observation while 40,932 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides, 7,514 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,97,576 persons have completed surveillance period and 48,716 persons are under home surveillance.

So far, results of 7,25,542 samples are available out of which 7,00,175 have tested negative while 25,367 have been tested positive. Among positive cases, 7,514 are active while 17,375 persons have recovered.
