J&K’s Covid tally mounts to 33,776 with 701 fresh cases

Srinagar (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 701 fresh Covid-19 cases including 84 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 33,776.

Of the total cases, 26,363 are from Kashmir and 7,413 from Jammu division.

The UT health officials said that among 701 new cases, 562 belong to Kashmir while 139 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 26,363 including 19,818 recoveries.

The total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached 7,413 including 5,776 recoveries and 50 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 7,544 including 5,957 from Kashmir and 1,587 from Jammu division.

With 389 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in the UT has reached 25,594 which is 75.77 percent of the total cases.

Srinagar district alone has 8,357 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 7,413.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 208 from Srinagar, 29 from Baramulla, 56 from Pulwama, 49 from Budgam, 44 from Anantnag, 18 from Kulgam, 06 from Shopian, 55 from Kupwara, 66 from Bandipora and 31 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 139 from Jammu division include 76 from Jammu, 09 from Rajouri, 11 from Kathua, 06 from Udhampur, 06 from Ramban, 13 from Samba, 03 from Doda, 12 from Poonch, 02 from Reasi and 01 from Kishtwar,” as per the daily health bulletin.

As per the daily information bulletin, 4,37,664 persons in J&K are under observation while 43,416 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides that, 7,544 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 3,45,036 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,030 persons are under home surveillance.

So far, results of 8,88,127 samples are available out of which 8,54,351 are negative while 33,776 have been tested positive. Among positive cases, 7,544 are active and 25,594 persons have recovered.
