Srinagar (NVI): A gunfight between terrorists and security forces is underway in Kawoosa area of Narbal in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said.
A police official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Kawoosa area of Narbal this afternoon on the basis of a specific input about presence of militants there.
“As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter,” the official said.
He said that heavy exchange of fire between forces and militants is on. Two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
