Jammu (NVI): Pakistani troops today resorted to unprovoked ceasefire at multiple locations along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, defence officials said.
Pakistani army targetted forward areas in the Poonch district by small arms firing and mortar shelling along LoC.
The ceasefire took place at about 5.30 am in Mankote sector, 11.45 am in Degwar sector and 12.15 pm at Mendhar sector, defence officials said adding that the Indian Army was retaliating befittingly.
Poonch district in the J&K Union Territory is highly affected by Pakistani shelling and has been targetted on almost a regular basis this year.
Earlier on September 5, the Pakistani army had targeted Balakote sector in Poonch by firing mortars and small arms.
