J&K’s Covid tally climbs to 73,014 with 14 more deaths, 824 new cases

Srinagar (NVI): Fourteen more people succumbed to the deadly coronavirus in J&K today while 824 fresh positive cases were detected, taking the total number of cases in the Union Territory to 73,014.

Of the total cases, 44,951 are from Kashmir and 28,063 from Jammu division. Officials said that among 824 new cases, 284 belong to Kashmir division while 540 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir has reached 44,951 including 36,685 recoveries and 826 deaths.

The total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached 28,063 including 17,582 recoveries and 320 deaths.

They said that the total number of active cases in J&K is 17,601 including 7,440 from Kashmir division and 10,161 from Jammu division.

With 1,408 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in the UT has reached 54,267 which is 74.32 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 105 from Srinagar, 27 from Budgam, 26 from Baramulla, 33 from Pulwama, 18 from Anantnag, 09 from Bandipora, 44 from Kupwara, 13 from Ganderbal, 01 from Kulgam and 08 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 540 from Jammu division include 337 from Jammu, 52 from Rajouri, 38 from Udhampur, 37 from Kathua, 11 from Doda, 29 from Samba, 10 from Poonch, 01 from Ramban, 14 from Reasi and 11 from Kishtwar,” officials disclosed.

In the last 24 hours, 14 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include 03 from Kashmir division and 11 from Jammu division.

As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Pulwama, Bandipora and Shopian in Kashmir division while 11 from Jammu division include seven from district Jammu, one from Udhampur, Doda, Samba and Ramban.

Apart from this, 5,70,333 persons in the UT are under observation while 15,721 persons have been kept under home quarantine. Besides that, 17,601 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 4,84,492 persons have completed surveillance period and 51,373 persons are under home surveillance.

So far, results of 15,81,606 samples are available out of which 15,08,592 have tested negative while 73,014 have tested positive. Among positive cases, 17,601 are active, 54,267 persons have recovered and 1,146 persons have died.
