Srinagar (NVI): After developing alternatives for the banned Chinese applications SHAREit and Cam Scanner, two brothers in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district have now come up with a substitute to TikTok.
The duo has become a sensation for the younger lot as young boys and girls are flooding the house of Tipu Sultan Wani and his brother Farooq Ahmed Wani to get new apps and to learn their functioning.
The 33 MB app, which is now available on Google Play Store, titled ‘Nucular-Start Your Amazing Short Video Reactions’ was developed by Tipu Sultan and his brother Farooq Wani as an alternative to TikTok.
It may be recalled that the Centre had banned TikTok, Cam Scanner, SHAREit and 57 other applications across India in the wake of Indo-China face-off in the Eastern Ladakh.
Speaking to NVI, Tipu Sultan said Nucular is not just a TikTok clone but they have opted for a more unique design to mark their product as an alternative and not as a clone to TikTok.
“We have designed the App keeping in view the 2G internet services in Jammu and Kashmir. We have used video compression and cache to help load a video faster and quicker. This helps those who use this app on slow internet networks like 2G and 3G,” said Sultan.
He said that they have used the latest technology and they will keep adding more and more filters and editing tools as they grow. “The user can upload any video of length between 5 seconds to 60 seconds and can edit, cut, add music to any video file,” Sultan said.
Tipu’s brother Farooq Ahmad Wani said that that future updates to the new app will include user-uploaded music files, searchable music files, live streaming, rewards (people can earn money for every video for every like, follower and share they generate) and much more.
“We will run a contest in the coming days wherein people with more than 5,000 followers can get a chance to earn Rs 2,000 worth voucher,” Farooq said, adding that he along with his brother have worked hard to develop an alternative to the TikTok.
