New Delhi (NVI): The Indian Army has inflicted heavy casualties on Pakistani army, killing six to 10 of its soldiers and same number of terrorists in retaliation to the unprovoked firing by Pakistan army to push terrorists into Indian side, in the Tangdhar Sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to reporters on the sideline of an event here on October 20, Chief of Army Staff, General Bipin Rawat said that the Indian Army had also destroyed three terrorist camps.
“The report we have is that six to ten Pakistani soldiers have been killed and same number of terrorists have also been killed. We can say with confidence that three terrorist camps have been destroyed while causing damage to the fourth one,” the General said.
The General warned that if Pakistan continues with such misadventure then “we will not hesitate to take action”.
“The casualties to the terrorists are far more than the information we have received,” he added
Gen Rawat said, “As of now there is a kind of radio silence on the other side and we are not even able to pick up any mobile communication from across, which implies that there has been damage, there has been casualties. But the Pakistani army does not want to highlight this damage or project this damage because the world will know that no action has been taken to curtail the acts of terrorism from across the border”.
The Pakistani army on the night of October 20, initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation to assist infiltration by terrorists into Indian territories.
Official said, “As a result, calibrated escalation of area weapons was undertaken by the Indian side in which terrorist launch pads, Pakistani army posts giving incidental protection to these launch pads and certain (Pakistani) gun positions were hit”.
During the ceasefire violation by Pakistan, two Indian soldiers and a civilian were killed while three civilians were injured.
The Indian army warned that it retains the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing in case Pakistani army continues to assist terrorist activities across Indian borders.
