2 LeT terrorist associates held in J&K’s Handwara; arms, ammo recovered

Srinagar (NVI): The Jammu and Kashmir Police today arrested two terrorist associates from north Kashmir’s Handwara and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession.

A police official said that based on a specified information, regarding the movement of anti-national elements, the Handwara police along with the Army and CRPF established check points at different locations in the town and started searching vehicles.

“During checking at Chinar Park, Handwara, two people riding a bike were found in suspicious condition, who on seeing the search party tried to escape from the spot but were chased and apprehended,” police said.

“On their personal search, arms and ammunition were recovered from their possession,” police added.

District Police Handwara tweeted, “#HandwaraPolice arrested 02 Terrorist Associates of #LeTOutfit. #ArmsandAmmunitions recovered from their possession.”

On further investigation, it came to surface that the duo works with Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit as associates.

The police have registered an FIR and are further investigating into the matter.
