New Delhi (NVI): Around 14 people, including six children were killed in a tragic road accident in Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh on late Thursday night.
The incident took place at spot on the Prayagraj-Lucknow highway at around 11:45 pm which falls under limits of Manikpur police station, according to the reports.
Notably, the accident occurred when a SUV collided with a truck which was parked on the highway. All the deceased were returning after attending a wedding function in Nababganj area.
Later, the area police recovered the bodies from the vehicle which was in a mangled state under the truck.
Following the incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the accident and has directed senior officials to reach the spot and provide all possible help to victims, the Chief Minister Office (CMO) stated.
