New Delhi (NVI): The total number of coronavirus cases in India increased to 93,51,110 with a single-day rise of 41,322 fresh cases in the past 24 hours, Union Health Ministry confirmed.
The country’s death toll due to the virus rose to 1,36,200, with 485 patients succumbing to the infection since yesterday.
Currently, 87,59,969 patients have been cured an recovered across the country and the active cases stands at 4,54,940.
In worst-affected Maharashtra, the COVID-19 cases increased to 18,08,550, followed by Karnataka with 8,81,086 cases, and Andhra Pradesh with 8,66,438 cases.
Maharashtra has also reported the highest number of fatalities at 46,898 followed by 11,738 in Karnataka and 11,681 in Tamil Nadu.
The other worst affected states are Tamil Nadu (7,77,616), Kerala (5,87,707), Delhi (5,56,744) and Uttar Pradesh (5,37,747).
Meanwhile, the death toll in the national capital rose to 8,909, while 5,09,654 patients in Delhi have recovered so far, the healthy ministry data shows.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, more than 13.80 crore samples tested for COVID-19 up to November 27.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a three-city visit to review coronavirus vaccine development work at facilities across India.
