New Delhi (NVI): A notice is doing rounds on social media claiming that the Intelligence Bureau (IB) has invited applications for recruitment to various post under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Debunking such claims, the Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) clarified that the notice is fake and Indian Government as not issued such recruitment advertisement for Intelligence Bureau.
In a tweet, PIB Fact Check wrote, “A recruitment advertisement allegedly issued by the Intelligence Bureau is inviting applications for various posts.
#PIBFactCheck: This advertisement is #Fake. The recruitment in IB is done through the UPSC, SSC and via All India recruitment examinations for certain posts.”

Notably, the recruitment in Intelligence Bureau (IB) is done only through the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and by holding dedicated All India recruitment examinations for some posts.
As per the Controller of Examinations, IB, “In all recruitment processes, the applications are invited online only through the portals of UPSC, SSC and MHA and there is no provision of offline or paper applications.”
The Press Information Bureau launched this fact-checking unit in December last year, to identify such misinformation related to government’s policies and schemes that are circulating on various social media platforms.
