New Delhi (NVI): The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has signed agreements with two paper mills in Uttar Pradesh for demonstration of an energy-efficient technology that will reduce the specific energy consumption by 25-30% during the manufacturing process.
The agreements have been signed with M/s Bindlas Duplux Ltd. and M/s Tirupati Balaji Fibers Ltd., the two paper mills, under GEF-5 (Global Environment Friendly) programme in Muzaffarnagar paper cluster.
“We’ve signed agreements with M/s Bindlas Duplux Ltd. & M/s Tirupati Balaji Fibers Ltd. for demonstration of an energy-efficient technology i.e. VFD Driven, Direct Coupled Agitators under GEF-5 programme in Muzaffarnagar paper cluster,” EESL said in a tweet on Friday.

The technology will use Variable-Frequency Drive (VFD) driven Direct Coupled Agitator motors to obtain energy efficiency. According to experts, VFDs can provide a lot of advantages, including energy efficiency in the production or manufacturing process.
The replication of this technology may lead to the annual electricity saving of 4000-4500 MWh in the cluster, as per EESL.
“The aim is to reduce the specific energy consumption by 25-30% for agitation system. Replication of this technology may lead to the annual electricity saving of 4000-4500 MWh in the Cluster,” EESL said in another tweet today.
EESL, a joint venture by Power PSUs under the Ministry of Power, is engaged in its efforts to build a sustainable India through its several initiatives.
