New Delhi (NVI): The schools in Gujarat have reopened for classes 10 and 12 today, after remaining closed for over 9 months amid COVID-19 outbreak.
The state government informed that, for now, class 10 and 12 students, who are due to appear for the upcoming board exams have been permitted to visit schools for regular classes.
As per the reopening, all the schools in the state have to strictly follow the Centre mandated standard operating procedure (SOP).
Under this, the school administration is required to make arrangements of hand sanitizers, thermal guns for checking temperatures, hand wash facilities, among others.
Besides, the students will have to bring written permission from their parents to attend classes and attendance is not mandatory. With in-person classes resuming, the online education system will continue as usual.
Apart from this, the regular classes also resumed for graduation and post-graduation final years students.
So far, Gujarat has confirmed 2,51,944 coronavirus cases with 4,344 deaths since the outbreak in the state.
