New Delhi (NVI): At least six prominent farmers’ leaders have been booked a day after Delhi witnessed unprecedented violence during a tractor rally by farmers who have been protesting against farm bills.

Among the farmers’ leaders booked are Yogendra Yadav, Gurnam Singh Chaduni, Baljeet Singh, Darshan Pal, Rajinder Singh, Buta Singh Burjgil, Rakesh Tikait and Joginder Singh Ugraha, as per reports.

An SIT also has been formed to probe the violence on January 26 in which one protester was killed while over 150 police personnel were injured, with two of them in ICU.

Apart from that, around 200 people have been arrested so far for rioting.

Meanwhile, two farmer unions- Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan and Bharatiya Kisan Union have separated themselves from the ongoing farmer protests at Delhi borders.

Rioting farmers yesterday broke barriers to storm the national capital, prompting police to use force and tear gas shells against them.
