Goa CM inaugurates first public EV charging station by CESL

New Delhi (NVI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today inaugurated the first public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station by CESL at the assembly complex of Goa Legislative Secretariat.

The EV charger has been installed by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Service Limited (EESL) .

Taking to Twitter, EESL wrote, “Hon’ CM, Goa @DrPramodPSawant today inaugurated Goa’s 1st public #mEV charger installed by our wholly owned subsidiary @ConvergenceCESL.”

“He also outlined his vision for replacing the current fleet of 12,000 cars in govt departments in Goa with EVs in a years’ time with our support,” it added.

In this regard, the Chief Minister of Goa also took to Twitter and said, “With an aim to boost the Electric Vehicles (EV) ecosystem, inaugurated the charging station and flagged off EV’s at Secretariat, Porvorim.”

“The EV agreement has been signed between GEDA & EESL to drive the E-Mobility programme in Goa by deploying EV’s to state Govt. departments,” he tweeted.

The charging unit is a 142 kilowatt (KW) fast charger and is the first among the 12 public EV chargers that will be installed by CESL, as part of the Green Goa Initiative, according to the media reports.

The Convergence CESL is 100 per cent owned subsidiary of EESL. The new energy company is focused on delivering clean, affordable and reliable energy.
