New Delhi (NVI): With 12,899 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, India’s overall COVID-19 tally reached 10,790,183, the Union Health Ministry confirmed today.
The death count increased to 1,54,703 with 107 daily new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
Currently, the number of patients cured and recovered across the country have crossed 1.04 crore-mark and stands at 1,04,80,455, pushing the national COVID-19 recovery rate of 97.13 per cent, while the COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.43 per cent.
Meanwhile, the active cases further dropped to 1.55 lakh-mark and stands at 1,55,025, which comprises 1.44 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
Maharashtra remains the worst-affected state with 20,33,266 cases followed by Karnataka with 9,40,596 cases and Kerala with 9,44,709 positive cases.
In another development, the number of healthcare workers vaccinated in the country stands at 44,49,552.
