EESL signs MoU with Coal India for decarbonisation of plants & facilities

New Delhi (NVI): The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) today signed a MoU with Coal India Limited (CIL) for implementation of energy efficiency projects and resources conservation for decarbonisation in CIL and its plants.

The Memorandum Of Understanding was signed by Venkatesh Dwivedi, Director, EESL and Sanjiv Soni, Director (Finance) in the august presence of Coal Secretary Anil Kumar Jain.

Taking to Twitter, EESL said, “We’ve signed an MoU with @CoalIndiaHQ to implement energy efficiency and resource conservation measures for decarbonization of all its plants and facilities. The MoU was signed in the august presence of Anil Kumar Jain, Secretary, Coal Ministry.”

As per the MoU signed between the two companies, the State-run, EESL will implement energy efficiency projects at establishments of CIL and carry out studies to identify opportunities to adopt clean energy,

“Under this partnership, we will carry out studies to identify opportunities to adopt clean energy and EE practices within their facilities and implement energy efficiency projects with innovative financial models in a customised approach,” EESL said in another tweet.

The Coal India Ltd is an Indian public sector coal mining and refining company in Kolkata. It has seven wholly-owned coal producing subsidiary companies and one mine planning & consultancy company.

Earlier on January 29, EESL signed agreements with two Bihar utilities for installation of 23.4 lakh smart prepaid electricity meters in the state.
