New Delhi (NVI): With 11,067 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, India’s coronavirus cases tally reached 10,858,371, the Union Health Ministry confirmed today.
The death count climbed to 1,55,252 with the novel coronavirus virus claiming 94 lives during this period, the data showed. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stood at 1.43 per cent.
Currently, more than 1.05 crore patients have been cured and recovered across the country and the total number of recoveries stand at 1,05,61,608, pushing the national recovery rate to 97.27 per cent.
While the active cases dropped further to 1.41 lakh-mark and stands at 1,41,511 in the country which accounts for 1.30 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
In worst-affected Maharashtra, the COVID-19 cases increased to 20,48,802 followed by Kerala with 9,77,394 and Karnataka with 9,43,212 positive cases.
The other worst hit states are Andhra Pradesh, (8,88,555), Tamil Nadu (8,42,730), Delhi (6,36,260) and Uttar Pradesh (6,01,562).
The number of healthcare and frontline workers vaccinated against COVID-19 has reached 65.28 lakh on day 25 of the nationwide inoculation drive, the ministry stated.
