PM Modi shares self-three mantras at IIT Kharagpur’s convocation

New Delhi (NVI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today advised the students to recognise their own potential and move forward with confidence by following the mantras of self-confidence, self-awareness and selflessness.

While addressing the 66th convocation ceremony of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT), PM Modi said, “Keeping in mind the situation in Uttarakhand, disaster management through innovations of IITians can save many lives and help the nation achieve the goal of becoming ‘Aatmanirbhar’.”

He through his speech motivated and inspired students to know their true worth and to move ahead with confidence.

He said, “While moving forward in life, you will face many questions that will put you in dilemma. The answer to such questions is- self-three- Self-awareness, self-confidence, and selflessness. Know your potential, and work hard with self-confidence and selflessness.”

PM Modi further said, “The situation of 21st century India has also changed, needs and aspirations have also changed. Now IITs need to be taken to the next level by being Institutes of Indigenous Technologies, not just Indian Institutes of Technology.”

He congratulated the students who are graduating today and said, “It is not only an important day for the graduating students, but also for the 130 crore Indians. People expect your contributions and leadership in the new ecosystem for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in the innovation, corporate world, governance, and other fields.”

Governor of West Bengal, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, and Union Minister of State for Education were also present on the occasion.

PM Modi will also be inaugurating the Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at the institute today, along with the newly launched MBBS programme.
