New Delhi (NVI): The air quality in Delhi remained in the “poor” category today with people getting no respite for the next two days.
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the hourly Air Quality Index (AQI) at around 10am stood at 210.
The AQI at 208 was recorded in Anand Vihar, 267 in Dwarka, 144 in Dilshad Garden, 250 in Patparganj, 212 in Vivek Vihar, and 211 in RK Puram, all areas were found to be in the ‘poor’ and ‘moderate’ category, as per the CPCB data.
An AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 and 100 ‘satisfactory’, 101 and 200 ‘moderate’, 201 and 300 ‘poor’, 301 and 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 and 500 ‘severe’
Moreover, the Ministry of Earth Sciences’ air quality monitoring agency, SAFAR said that the air quality in Delhi is likely to stay in the ‘moderate’ to lower end of ‘poor’ category for next two days.
SAFAR added that, “AQI is likely to deteriorate marginally to ‘poor’ category on March 15. An increase in dust contribution is expected in the coming days. Poor AQI is forecast for March 16 and 17.”
Meanwhile, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the minimum temperature settled at 16 degrees Celsius today and maximum temperature to remain at 32 degrees Celsius.
IMD has forecast mainly clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards afternoon or evening today.
