Imran Khan tests COVID positive, two days after taking Chinese vaccine dose

New Delhi (NVI): Two days after receiving his first dose of the Chinese COVID-19 vaccine, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for the novel coronavirus today.

Prime Minister Khan, 68, is currently self-isolating at home.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services, Faisal Sultan took to Twitter and wrote, “PM Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19 and is self-isolating at home.”

On March 18, Imran Khan had taken his first shot of the Chinese coronavirus vaccine ‘Sinovac’.

Sinopharm’s Sinovac is the only vaccine currently available in Pakistan and requires two doses.

After receiving his dose, he urged the citizens of his country to ensure the full implementation of norms to prevent the surge in cases of coronavirus.

So far, the total cases in the country have surpassed the 6.15 lakh-mark and the death toll has crossed 13,700.
