MP: Sunday lockdown in 4 more districts

New Delhi (NVI): The Madhya Pradesh government has imposed Sunday lockdown in four more districts of Betul, Chhindwara, Ratlam and Khargone, amid surge in the cases of coronavirus across the state.

The state government has already imposed Sunday lockdown in districts like Indore, Bhopal, and Jabalpur. This lockdown in total seven districts will begin at 10 pm on Saturday and end at 6 am on Monday, according to the reports.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made the announcement in this regard while briefing his ministerial colleagues on the coronavirus situation after the cabinet meeting.

The state government also capped the number of attendees at weddings and other related events.

Meanwhile, swimming pools, gyms and cinema halls too will remain closed in such districts. Only take-away service will be allowed at restaurants and public halls will be allowed to function with 50 per cent capacity.

Apart from that, regarding the upcoming festival of Holi, the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has encouraged people to celebrate the festival at home.

So far, Madhya Pradesh has registered 2,80,289 coronavirus cases with 10,047 active cases. The death toll stands at 3,919 across the state, the Health Ministry data shows.
