New Delhi (NVI): All monuments, museums and sites protected under Archaeological Survey of India will be shut till May 15 in view of the ongoing surge in Covid-19 cases across the country, the Ministry of Culture said today.
Tourism Minister Prahlad Singh Patel, in a tweet today said that the Government has taken the step after taking into account the current pandemic situation in the country.
“All monuments & museums under @ASIGoI to be closed till 15th May 2021 due to COVID spike,” ASI tweeted while retweeting Prahlad Patel’s tweet carrying a copy of the order.

“Due to prevailing COVID situation, it has been decided to close all the Centrally protected Monuments/Sites and Museums under Archaeological Survey of India with immediate effect till 15th May 2021 or until further orders,” read the order tweeted by the Culture Minister.
