Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today announced to impose night curfew in the state as it witnessing a surge in the COVID-19 cases. All shops and business establishments should be closed by 6 pm and government offices should close an hour earlier.
“Night curfew will remain in place across Bihar from 9 pm to 5 am. All shops selling vegetables, fruits, eggs and meat will be closed by 6 pm. Restaurants and dhabas to be operational for home delivery and take away services till 9 pm”, Chief Minister said.
All malls, parks, cinema halls have been closed and restaurants have been kept open only for takeaways. Educational institutions and religious establishments will be closed till May 15 and no exams will be conducted, Chief Minister said.
Over the last 24 hours, Bihar recorded 8,690 cases — an all-time high. The total caseload is more than 3 lakh.
