New Delhi (NVI): At least 28 special trains, including Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, Duronto and Rajdhani, will not operate from May 9 until further orders.

This decision has been taken by the Railways in view of a huge spike in Covid cases and low occupancy, officials said.

Among the cancelled trains, 8 are Shatabdi, 3 Jan Shatabdi, 2 Duronto and 2 Rajdhani.

The Vande Bharat train which plies between New Delhi and Katra in Jammu and Kashmir has also been cancelled.
