New Delhi: CBSE will declare the Class 12 results by July 31, based on a formula which will take into consideration the marks obtained by a student in Class 10, 11 final examinations and the marks obtained in Unit Test, Mid-term or Pre-Board Exams of Class 12.
The results for CBSE Class 12, for which examination was cancelled in view of Covid situation, will be calculated by adding 30 percent marks of best three subjects of Class 10, 30 percent marks of Class 11 and 40 percent marks of Unit Test, Mid-Term or Pre-Board exams of Class 12, according to CBSE’s Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj.
He said students who are not satisfied with the marks calculated under this formula can appear for physical examinations.
“We’ll start online registration to know exact number of applicants,” Bhardwaj said.
His comments came hours after hearing in the Supreme Court which ruled that there is no rolling back of the decision to cancel the CBSE Class 12 exams and gave a go-ahead to the formula presented by the CBSE for calculating the marks.
According to the CBSE proposal, a five-member committee would be set up by each school to determine the results of students.
In case a student fails to obtain the minimum passing marks or wishes to appear for a written exam and is not happy with marks given by the board based on special criteria, he/she will get a chance to appear for a written exam at a later stage.
If any student is not able to meet the qualifying criterion, he/she will be placed in the ‘Essential Repeat’ or ‘Compartment’ Category.
