New Delhi: Extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lighting will continue to occur over the parts of East, South and Central India, the IMD said today.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), “Heavy rainfall very likely at isolated places over North Gujarat, Bihar, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa Coastal Karnataka, Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe.”
Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Uttarakhand and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
With lightning at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya, Coastal Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, the IMD said.
Duststorm/Thunderstorm with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) very likely at isolated places over Rajasthan, it said.
“Under the influence of a Low pressure area over southeast UP; fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely over East Uttar Pradesh & Bihar during next 24 hours and significant reduction in rainfall activity thereafter,” the IMD said yesterday.
As per IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall occurred at isolated places over East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim and Konkan & Goa and Heavy Rainfall at isolated places over Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan yesterday.
