India records 36,571 new Covid cases, 540 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 36,571 fresh COVID-19 cases and 540 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the total active cases now are 3,63,605, the lowest in 150 days while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,33,589.

Nearly 36,555 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,15,61,635, the Health Ministry said.

The country’s active cases now account for 1.12% of total cases which is the lowest since March 2020.

The recovery rate increases to 97.54% which is the highest since March 2020, the Ministry said.

A total of 57.22 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far.

Yesterday, the country recorded 36,401 fresh COVID-19 cases and 530 deaths in 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the country recorded 35,178 COVID-19 cases and 440 deaths in 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the country recorded 25,166 fresh Covid cases, the lowest in 154 days and 437 deaths in 24 hours.

On Monday, the country recorded 32,937 COVID-19 cases and 417 deaths in 24 hours.

On Sunday, the country recorded 35,499 COVID-19 cases and 447 deaths in 24 hours.
