States/UTs to get over 1 crore Covid vaccine doses: Centre

New Delhi: Over 57.15 crore Covid vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories so far and more than one crore doses are in the pipeline, the Union Health Ministry said today.

The central government has so far provided more than 57,15,22,580 vaccine doses to States/UTs through the free of cost category and direct state procurement category, the Ministry said.

Further, 1,00,84,700 vaccine doses are in the pipeline.

More than 3.29 crore (3,29,58,715) COVID vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the Ministry said.

As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost.

In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.
