New Delhi: India saw a big jump in single-day Covid numbers and deaths, with 37,593 cases fresh cases and 648 fatalities being reported from across the country yesterday.
With this increase, the total active cases now are 3,22,327 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,35,758, the Union Health Ministry said today.
Nearly 34,169 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,17,54,281, the Health Ministry said.
Yesterday, the country recorded 25,467 fresh COVID-19 cases and 354 deaths in 24 hours.
On Monday, the country recorded 25,072 fresh Covid cases, the lowest in 160 days and 375 deaths in 24 hours.
On Sunday, the country reported 30,948 new COVID-19 cases and 403 deaths in 24 hours.
On Saturday last, the country recorded 34,457 fresh COVID-19 cases and 375 deaths in 24 hours.
At least 36,571 new cases of corona and 540 deaths in the country in 24 hours were reported last Friday.
On Thursday last, the government reported 36,401 fresh COVID-19 cases and 530 deaths in 24 hours.
