New Delhi: Heavy rainfall likely over Peninsular India and adjoining areas for the next three days due to low-pressure area that formed over eastcentral & adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal today.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), “A well-marked low-pressure area has formed over eastcentral & adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal at 1130 hrs of today.”
It is likely to concentrate into a depression during the next 12 hours and move west-northwestwards towards Odisha coast during the next 48 hours, it said.
Under this influence, light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over Odisha and Coastal Andhra Pradesh tomorrow.
“Light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at a few places & extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over south & coastal Odisha; heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy falls at isolated places over north interior Odisha, Chhattisgarh & Telangana and Gangetic West Bengal on 26 & 27 September,” the IMD said.
It further predicted squally wind exceeding 75 kmph over Eastcentral and adjoining Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal and along and off Odisha, West Bengal and North Andhra Pradesh coasts, northeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea over the next three days.
Sea condition will be rough to very rough over east-central & adjoining northeast Bay of
Bengal during the next 24 hours, the IMD said.
“The fishermen are advised not to venture into east-central & adjoining northeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea on 24th and 25th Sept,” it said.
The fishermen are advised not to venture into northwest & adjoining the westcentral Bay of Bengal and along & off Odisha, West Bengal & North Andhra Pradesh coasts from tonight till 27th Sept, it added.
