India records 15,823 new COVID cases, 226 deaths

New Delhi: India recorded 15,823 fresh COVID-19 cases and 226 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the total active cases now are 2,07,653 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,51,189, it said.

Nearly 22,844 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,33,42,901.

A total of 96,43,79,212 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far with inoculating 50,63,845 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours.

Yesterday, the country recorded 14,313 Covid infections and 181 deaths in 24 hours.

The country recorded 18,132 Covid cases and 193 fatalities in 24 hours, a day earlier.

Nearly 18,166 new infections cases along with 214 deaths were recorded in 24 hours on Sunday.

The single-day figure reported last Friday was 21,257 along with 271 deaths in a span of 24 hours.

The previous day, the country recorded 22,431 COVID-19 cases and 318 deaths in 24 hours.

A day earlier, the country recorded 18,833 fresh COVID-19 cases and 278 deaths in 24 hours.
