Big jump in Covid deaths in India

New Delhi: India saw a nearly three-time increase in deaths due to Covid in the last 24 hours, with 666 fatalities being registered across the country.

The death figure during the previous 24 hours was 231.

Because of these fresh fatalities, the cumulative tally of deaths due to Covid has gone up to 4,53,708.

According to the Union Health Ministry today, 16,326 fresh Covid cases were registered in the last 24 hours and the total active cases stood at 1,73,728.

During the previous 24 hours, 15,786 new cases were reported from across the country.

On Thursday, the government reported registration of 18,454 fresh cases against 14,623 recorded during the previous day.

The government on Thursday also reported 160 deaths during the previous 24 hours.

On Wednesday, the government said 14,623 new COVID-19 cases and 197 deaths were reported in the previous 24 hours.

On Tuesday, the government reported 13,058 single-day cases in the previous 24 hours, which was the lowest in 231 days.
The country saw 164 deaths due to Covid in those 24 hours, as per the Union Health Ministry.
On Monday, the government reported 13,596 single-day cases, which was lower than 14,146 registered the previous day.

The government on Monday also reported 166 Covid deaths in a span of 24 hours.
